Bar-Trek
A consumer platform for creating, discovering and sharing pub crawls, built from a family idea into a product used by thousands of people every month.

It started with a map and a lot of coloured dots.
My dad tracked Liverpool pub visits with a printed map: green dots for the places he had visited, red for the ones still to go. I saw the product hiding inside that wonderfully analogue system.
Bar-Trek began as a better way to visualise that list, then grew into a complete social platform for planning routes, discovering pubs and sharing the experience with friends.
One builder, the whole stack.
I designed and engineered the product end to end with Next.js, Supabase and PostgreSQL, deploying on Vercel and learning directly from real user behaviour as the community grew.
A side project that became a real product.
Bar-Trek demonstrates the part of my work that sits outside a model or infrastructure diagram: finding a useful product inside an idea, shipping the whole thing, and improving it with real users rather than assumptions.
Product thinking
Turned a physical map and a family ritual into a clear, shareable digital experience.
End-to-end engineering
Owned the interface, application logic, data model, authentication and production deployment.
Real-world validation
Grew the platform organically to 5,000 monthly visitors and learned from live user behaviour.
